A History Of Quality Service
R L Laughlin was established in September of 1970 by Ron and
Patricia Laughlin. Ron had extensive experience in natural gas measurement (meter technician, gas accounting
and manager of gas measurement), gas drilling, pipeline, compressor stations, production,
well operation and domestic service. His goal was to start a business offering unparalleled
customer service and measurement accuracy.
Patricia had worked 12 years for the IBM Corporation gaining valuable computing
and business experience. She shared the dream and together they started what would
become one of the premiere gas service businesses in the eastern United States.
The IT and accounting departments are her responsibility and she has been instrumental
in the development of the company's software programs.
They attribute the firm's success to their integrity, accountability and client
satisfaction. The company has grown from just the two of them to a spacious office
facility in Charleston, West Virginia, as well as field offices, and 50+ employees, including
field technicians in many states.
They have surrounded themselves with supervisors and employees who are dedicated
to customer service and accurate gas measurement reporting. In 2009, operational management was handed
over to David Canterbury,
with the Laughlins remaining as owners and advisors. With
many years in the oil and gas industry and experienced in field work as well as
measurement theory and management, David is determined to lead the company toward
continued growth, while maintaining the reputation for quality and customer service
so long associated with R L Laughlin.
